GPRC Host Double Header Against KINGS Eagles

The Wolves welcomed The KINGS Eagles to their gym for a pair of games this weekend.

The Eagles put the first 3 points on the board, a 3 point shoot by number #10 Quinn Peterson. Wolves answer back with 2 field goals. Lots of big rebounds keeping both teams at minimum scoring. Half way through the first quarter, 10:6 for the Eagles. Back to back 3 pointers for Jeremy Pynn and the Wolves take the lead 12:10. The quarter ends 25:16 for the Wolves.

Eagles answer back with 12 points in the first 5 minutes. They come within 3 points before a foul to Joshua Burnstand, putting him at the line, 0-2. #10 Quinn Peterson sinks a 2 pointer to come within 1 before Liam O'Hallahan answers back with a bucket. Both teams exchange buckets in the last few minutes. Half time ends in Wolves favor, 39:38.

The crowed was entertained by the Gymniks All Star Cheer Team at half time. Athletes ages 2-16 performed in front of a large crowd, demonstrating some impressive cheer leading moves.

Very few points scored in the 3rd quarter, each team put 10 points on the board and the quarter ended tied 48:48.

The Wolves opened the scoring in the 4th with a 2 point bucket from #24 Saxon Joyes at the 7 minute mark. #13 Darian Goertzen draws a foul and goes 1-1 from the line putting the Wolves up 3. Late in the quarter the Eagles go up 3. The Wolves could not defend under the Eagles net and they find themselves down 6 with 3 minutes left. Liam O'Hallahan responds with a 3 with 1:30 left and the Wolves are down by 1. Liam draws a foul and goes 1-1 from the line, to tie the game at 62. 5 more points on the board from Liam and the Wolves win 66:63.

Player of the Game for the KINGS Eagles was #10 Quinn Peterson with 12 points and for the GPRC Wolves #8 Liam O'Hallahan with 24 points.

Both teams are back in action tomorrow at 3pm at GPRC.
