Keyano College Huskies vs. The Kings University Eagles
Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre
Canadian Natural Gymnasium
Coming off of a last second loss to the host Grande Prairie Regional College Wolves last Saturday the Keyano Huskies dropped from No. 4 to No. 11 in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association polls.
They look to rebound against the visiting The Kings University Eagles who they last met November 29-30, 2019 in Edmonton winning 74-65 and 98-68.
First Period
Keyano 26 Kings 19
Crisp passing by the Huskies breaks Eagle full court press. Huskies' Stefan Jovcic and Angelo Mbituyimana each hit well-timed three pointers. Huskies moving the ball well as attested by the 10 assists credit.
Second Period
Keyano 58 Kings 29
Mbituyimana, dawning a white headband, brings the Friday night crowd to their feet with a few dunks, steals and three-pointers. Even the players on the Eagles bench have to smile.
Mbituyimana with 18 points and Jovcic 16. Malik Mate has 11 for the visitors.
Huskies shooting an impressive to say the least, 69% from the field 23-of-33,
Third Period
Keyano 75 Kings 43
Huskies rejecting it in the paint as both Joe Michel and Noah Simpson send back shots.
Simpson does a little Wilt Chamberlain finger roll for a spectacular score. Why Wilt Chamberlain comparison? Because like Wilt, Noah had four players surrounding him.
Eagles' 4th year veteran Zachary Marchak playing solid at both ends of the hardwood.
Fourth Period
Keyano 87 Kings 67
Eagles' Damien Fulp showcases some pretty moves to start the period.
Play gets a little sloppy midway through period.
Keyano player of the game honours goes to Mbituyimana.
Kings player of the game is Marchak.
