Kings Edge Lightning

In a game that came down to the last 10 seconds to seal the victory, the Red Deer College Kings edged the Lightning with a score of 78-77 in the last home game of the season. In the first half, the Lightning quickly had a 20 point defeceit, with the Kings shooting above 50% from the field and 70% from the 3 point line, while the Lightning shot below 30%. But the game would change the second half, as the Lightning caught fire shooting from beyond the arc, and would fight their way back to take a 4 point lead in the fourth quarter. But a 3 pointer made by Cody White with 2 seconds left would seal the victory for the Kings, as the Lightning missed a last second tip at the hoop. The ACAC players of the game were the Lightning's Jordan Britton who had 22 points, shooting 7 for 10 from the 3 point line, and the Kings Cody White, who had 6 points, including the game winning shot. The Kings now have clinched the fourth and final playoff spot, and will face the Lightning tomorrow night in the last regular season home game in Red Deer.
