CALGARY, ALTA., (Feb. 4, 2022) - The SAIT Trojans men's basketball team captured a win to start their weekend.
The Trojans used a combination of stingy defense and poor shooting by the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings to earn a decisive 89-58 victory in their Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) game played inside SAIT's Campus Centre.
SAIT improves to 8-2 on the season, while Red Deer falls to 6-3.
Red Deer struggled to score all game long. In fact, the Kings went 0-for-23 from the 3pt line. Even Tyronn King, who came into the game leading the league in scoring (30.5 points per game) was held to just 18 - seven of those coming in the fourth quarter with the game well in-hand for SAIT.
On the other side of the court, the Trojans received 20-point games from both Charlie Conner (23 points, 12 rebounds) and Marcus Master (21 points) to solidify the victory.
Conner and King were named Players of the Game.
