Thunder Fall Short in Sunday Matchup With Wolves
EDMONTON, AB (February 13, 2022) – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder finish this weekend's series of games by welcoming the NWP Wolves. After a night of back-and-forth play, the Wolves held their early lead to take the game 86-68.
After a quick first quarter with strong back and forth play, the Wolves were able to find some momentum and take the quarter over the Thunder 22-16. Keeping their momentum, the Wolves outscored the Thunder 23-13 to take the half 45-29. Thunder fought hard in the third quarter, almost catching up to the Wolves scoring 15 to their 20. With their lead from the first half, the Wolves took the third quarter 65-45. The Thunder fought hard in the fourth quarter, and chipped away at the Wolves lead, but couldn't close the gap as the NWP Wolves took the win 86–68.
Thunder head coach Reagan Wood commented after the game, "Tough night for us in a game we needed. Credit to NWP for a solid outing. We have a big week coming up that will call for us to prepare well as we travel to Keyano Friday and host King's on Sunday."
The One Team Sports Players of the game were #5 Liam Davison for the NWP Wolves and #7 Arjun Dhaliwal for the Concordia Thunder.
The Thunder continue their regular season by welcoming The King's University Eagle's on Sunday, February 20th.
