Thunder Fall Short in Friday Matchup with Huskies

EDMONTON, AB (February 25, 2022) – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder finish their regular season by playing the Keyano Huskies on Friday night. Starting off the night in a tie, the game was a battle until the end with the Huskies ultimately taking the win 94-73. 

After a quick first quarter with strong back and forth play, we saw the Thunder and Huskies tie the first quarter 19-19. Finding their momentum, the Keyano Huskies came out strong at the beginning of the second quarter. Outscoring the Thunder 31-9, the Huskies take half 50-28. With their lead from the first half, the Thunder put up a battle but the Huskies took the third quarter 76-53. The Thunder fought hard in the fourth quarter, and chipped away at the Huskies lead, but couldn't close the gap as the Keyano Huskies took the win 94-73.

Thunder head coach Reagan Wood commented after the game, "Tonight was a tough battle but we worked hard. We learned some lessons tonight that will help us as we enter into the playoffs."

The One Team Sports Players of the game were #8 Sean-Michael Clancey for the Keyano Huskies and #4 Lucas Turchet for the Concordia Thunder.

Concordia University of Edmonton would like to recognize their graduating player #4 Lucas Turchet and wish him all the very best and success in his future endeavors.
