Clippers Keep Playoff Hopes Alive with Win Against Broncos

The Clippers and Broncos traded baskets little by little at the start of the first quarter, with neither team being able to consistently score. While both teams were able to find quality looks, neither team was able to consistently make them. With 2:45 left in the first, the score was 12-10 for the Broncos. Only the Broncos scored for the rest of the quarter, with only a single basket at that, making the score 14-11.

Briercrest and Olds started off the quarter the same way that they did the last, trading baskets. At the 5:50 mark after trading baskets, the Broncos were able to mount a run off of physical rebounding and finishing on the interior. Their run continued into the bottom half of the quarter, eventually making the score 26-16 with 4:30 left in the 2nd. The Clippers mounted a run of their own, eventually tying the game 30-30.

To start the 2nd half of the game the score is 33-32 for the Clippers. They start by trading baskets for most of the 3rd quarter with quite a few 3-point shots being scored for both teams. There was a fury of shots for both sides and physical rebounding to finish the 3rd quarter. The Clippers continued leading and at the end of the 3rd quarter, it was 57-53. 

To start off the final quarter of the game the Clippers and Broncos were quite physical and fast with neither team consistently scoring. The final quarter brought on a fury of shots from both teams, but the game remained close at 61-56 for the Clippers. With 5 mins left in the game, the Broncos scored a few shots and were trying to close in on the Clippers. The score is 66-63 for the Clippers. In the final seconds of the game, a timeout was called with the score being 68-65 in favor of the Clippers.

The final score of the game was 72-65 in favor of the Clippers.

The player of the game awards were rewarded to #14 Adrian Deere for Olds who finished with 17 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, and #9 Kyle Helsloot for the Clippers who finished with 15 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist
