Lightning Overcome the Rattlers by a Strong Third Quarter of Play

The Rattlers and Lightning came out firing. Each team was pushing the ball up the court and exchanging shot for shot. By the end of the first quarter of play the Lightning found themselves ahead by 5 points. Going into the second quarter of play the Lightning and Rattlers did not back down. Each team played with heart and the drive to put their team in the lead. The Lightning held strong and extended their lead to 11 points by half. The Rattlers were led by number 23 Cooper Ward who had an astonishing 20 points in the first half, while Lightning number 7 Brock Dewsbury was not far behind with 18 points. The Lightning did not back down in the third quarter as they continued to shoot threes and move the ball with ease. The Rattlers defense fell as the Lightning pushed the ball up the floor and outscored the Rattlers 25 to 7. The Rattlers did not back down though and stayed with the Lightning in the fourth and took over the quarter outscoring the Lightning by 2 points but it was not enough to overcome the deficit the Lightning had made throughout the third quarter. The player of the game were number 31 Cooper Ward with 31 points, 3 assists and 12 rebounds, while the Lightning number 7 Brock Dewsbury scored 26 points and had 4 rebounds and 4 steals. The Lightning play the Rattlers on their home turf tomorrow January 28th at 8pm.
