Lakeland hangs on against Concordia

Lakeland hangs on against Concordia

Once again, it was tight down the stretch in the Lakeland Gymnasium.

The Rustlers were looking for the clean sweep in order to keep pace with the NAIT Ooks. Following a very low scoring opening to the game, Lakeland lead 39-25 at the half.

Heading into the 4th, it looked like the Rustlers were heading for dinner early, but a series of three-pointers made it a one possession game. A couple of key defensive sequences, and timely offence from Abdul Al-Tamimi, helped the home side to the 86-75 win.

Al-Tamimi had a game high 25 points, while Kaleb DeKlerk (17 points) was the Thunder's POG.

Lakeland is now 10-6 and will try to add to the win column on the road Friday evening, where they face Medicine Hat.
