MBB| Kodiaks Take Weekend Series 2-0 Against Rattlers in Dominating Fashion

February 4, 2023- The red-hot Kodiaks looked to keep their winning streak going as they are on a 5-game heater as they sit atop the south division standings as they faced off against the Medicine Hat Rattlers for round 2 of their Highway 3 looking for the weekend sweep.

The Kodiaks started off the game on the right foot setting the tone with a 7-point run before the Rattlers were able to get on the board. The Kodiaks had a very offensive-heavy 1st quarter spending the majority of play in the Rattlers end making it difficult for Medicine Hat to put up any points limiting their offensive opportunities which allowed the Kodiaks to develop a comfortable lead after 10 minutes of play leading the Rattlers 18-9.

The Rattlers were quick to bounce back in the 2nd quarter as they were back within a couple of baskets in the first few minutes of the quarter. The Kodiaks called a timeout to try and sort things and get their groove back and build a strong lead as they had at the start of the quarter. Both teams struggled to put points on the board after both teams called a time-out. Later in the quarter, the Kodiaks were able to start generating some momentum with Mason Hoffman picking up 5 points to get the Kodiaks back with a strong 38-26 headed into halftime.

The Kodiaks put up an 8-point run to start the 2nd half to lengthen their lead and set the tone for the quarter. The Kodiaks continued to dominate all over the court throughout the quarter developing an extremely large lead with Kodiaks Brady Baines putting up 8 points to help his team outscore the Rattlers 30-9 in the quarter to go up 68-35 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

The Kodiaks just kept on going in the 4th quarter and refused to slow down as they continued to dominate the Rattlers growing their demanding lead as Kodiaks rookie Treydon Barton picked up 10 points for the cherry on top to take the game 93-47.
