The Lightning and Kings match up started off strong with either team determined for the win and the advance to the playoff road. The first quarter had the Lightning and Kings exchanging shot for shot but the Lightning came out strong and ended the quarter up by 5 points.
The second quarter had the Kings fired up to take the lead. The Lightning and Kings aggressive play had either team in the running for the win but it was the Kings that won the second quarter and only trailed the Lightning by 1 point going into the half.
Going into the last half of play the Lightning and Kings showed how determined they were to take the win and advance to the playoffs. The Lightning came out firing and improved their lead to 11 points to end the third quarter of play.
The Kings did not back down and fought hard to close the gap and win the game. The Lightning held on strong and fought down to the wire where they overcame the Kings by 3 points and therefore advance to the playoffs.
