Men's Basketball TKU Eagles v. STMU Lightning

On November 30, the King's University Eagles Men's basketball team took on St. Mary's University Lightning at 8:00 p.m. in the King's University gymnasium. 

 

In the first quarter, the game kicked off with the Eagles making an early statement, as Gavin Ouellette delivered a fantastic pass to Jonathan Barwegen, who sank a great shot. David Loki quickly followed up with a sharp three-pointer, a strong drive, and a smooth layup. Brock Stupar also contributed with a three-pointer, followed by a driving shot that helped extend the Eagles' lead. Defensively, Evan Castle was a force, recording a key block. For the Lightning, Brock Dewsbery was aggressive early, driving to the basket for a series of impressive layups. Caleb Jipp added a three-pointer and several effective drives to the hoop. Riley Follensbee and Isaiah Macdonald both contributed with well-executed shots, while Pelumi Ajgei showed his shooting touch with a couple of great baskets. The Eagles maintained a slim lead, but the Lightning's offensive execution kept things close.

 

In the second quarter, Lightning came out strong in the second, with Pelumi Ajgei hitting multiple great shots to keep the pressure on the Eagles. Brock Dewsbery continued to be a key offensive player, adding a smooth shot to his repertoire. Chele Peters made a huge impact with a powerful dunk, while Noah Steingart hit a key shot to add to the Lightning's growing momentum. The Eagles, however, responded with strong play from Seth Parker, who displayed excellent offense, including shots and passes that created opportunities for his teammates. Daniel Park was a major factor for the Eagles, contributing with great shots and key rebounds. Brock Stupar hit another three-pointer, while David Loki drove hard to the basket for several effective shots. Evan Castle also made a solid contribution with a rebound shot, keeping the Eagles competitive as the quarter came to a close. Despite the Lightning's strong play, the Eagles stayed ahead, but the gap was closing.

 

In the third quarter, Lightning turned up the defense, effectively limiting the Eagles' scoring opportunities. Brock Dewsbery remained active, contributing with a series of great shots, drives, and passes. Isaiah Macdonald continued to be a reliable shooter, adding some important baskets to keep the Lightning in the game. Pelumi Ajgei also stayed hot, making several key shots. On the Eagles' side, Brock Stupar showcased his versatility with excellent drives and shots to keep his team in the fight. Joshua Povhe came up big, sinking two great three-pointers, while Jonathan Barwegen used his size and skill to hit a smooth hook shot. Despite the Eagles' offensive efforts, the Lightning's defensive pressure and balanced scoring attack helped them maintain a slight edge as they headed into the final period.

 

In the fourth and final quarter, Lightning played aggressive defense in the final quarter, working hard to maintain their lead. Caleb Jipp was key, driving to the basket for several layups and knocking down important shots. Brock Dewsbery continued to shine, scoring efficiently and adding more layups to his tally. Riley Follensbee also stepped up, hitting a few key shots and layups to solidify the Lightning's offensive flow. The Eagles responded with determination, as Brock Stupar nailed two important three-pointers and continued to make excellent passes to his teammates. Seth Parker added a crucial three-pointer, and Benjamin Thess made some valuable shots to help the Eagles keep pace. Joshua Povhe also added a timely basket to keep the Eagles within striking distance. However, the Lightning's well-rounded performance and strong defense proved too much in the end, allowing them to secure the victory.

 

With high liveliness in the gym's atmosphere, both teams did a fantastic hardworking job in today's game.
