EDMONTON, AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder welcomed the MacEwan Griffins Saturday night in game two of their 2020 ACAC Quarter-Final series. The Thunder scored early, and added another in the third as they took this one 2-0.
In the first period, the Thunder scored three minutes in with a power play goal to grab the momentum quickly. The rest of the period was a tightly contested back and forth defensive affair. The second period was again a defensive battle as both goalies stood on their heads to keep the game 1-0 for Concordia. The third period started again with both teams exchanging chances, and the goalies stealing the show in this one. However, the Thunder added another power play goal late to go up 2-0, which was the eventual final score.
The win tonight tied up the series between the Thunder and Griffins. The third and deciding game of the quarter-final will go tomorrow afternoon at MacEwan.
The Kahunaversa Players of the Game were #1 Marc-Olivier Daigle for the Griffins and #30 Tanner McCorriston.
