Thunder even the series

CAMROSE, AB - evening the series at one game apiece, the Concordia Thunderstrike, beating the Augustana Vikings 4-1 on Saturday afternoon at Encana Arena.

With the win, the Thunder push the three-game series to a third and final game on Sunday night in their home barn. The Vikings have had some luck on the road this postseason, however, beating the SAIT Trojans on the road in game one of the Quarterfinal and more recently taking down the Thunder on Friday night in a 3-2 overtime victory.

Finding success and sharing the goal-scoring love for the Thunder was Brandon Wallis, Curtis Peck, Peter Tomaras, and Xavier Parenteua all netting one goal. Meanwhile, backstopping the team to victory was Griffin Bowerman, making 29 saves.

Across the ice, the Viking's lone goal was scored by Tanner Manz, while Lane Kirk added the assist. In the loss, Daniel Moody made 33 saves.

Getting off on the right foot, the Vikings started where they had left off the night before getting on the board just four-minute in the first, marking the fourth unanswered goal over against the Thunder. However, before the period would expire, the Thunders Parenteau evened the score at one.

Midway through the second frame, the Thunder took control as Tomaras shot from the top of the circle beat Moody, shiting the game to the Thunder and they did not look back as they would go on to add two more, including an empty-net goal before the final buzzer.

The Vikings will look to regroup against the Thunder tomorrow night on the road at 8:15pm, with the winner moving onto the ACAC Final.
