NAIT Ooks Win Championship Game One

Friday night was the start of the ACAC men's hockey championship round between the NAIT Ooks and the Concordia Thunder. NAIT hosted game one, and NAIT came out with the crucial first game of the series.

NAIT came out with severe intensity in the first, which translated on the board with a goal from Colby Livingstone early into the first. Though Concordia quickly got their feet under them and started trading chances with NAIT, but was unsuccessful to put anything in the goal column. Both goalies stood tall for the remainder of the first.

1-0 NAIT after one.

Like the first, NAIT got aggressive early in the period again. A goal from Ethan McIndoe doubled NAIT's lead less than fifteen seconds into the second period. NAIT kept the momentum rolling, though, as they extended their lead on the power play with a second goal from Ethan McIndoe. NAIT added one more before the second was done, with Shane Fraser getting in on the scoring.

4-0 NAIT after two.

Concordia came out with the jump early in the third but still could not solve Papirny. NAIT wasn't done scoring either. The fifth goal of the game came from Eric Lacombe. Exactly twelve seconds later, Eric Lacombe scored another one making it a six-goal lead.

6-0 NAIT final.

Both teams look forward to game two to make adjustments and come out with the victory.
