MFUT| Kodiaks take the Win Against the Rattlers

February 21, 2023- The Lethbridge College Kodiaks were on home turf during the reading break as they faced off against their rivals the Medicine Hat Rattlers.

Within the first 5 minutes the Kodiaks took the lead with an assertive goal from #18 defensive player, Kyeler Paxman-Viani. Both teams fought hard and intensity ran high; the Rattlers managed to catch the Kodiaks from a goal from #23 Arlind Musliu. After a foul from Rattlers, Kodiaks #18 Kyeler Paxman-Viani shot a penalty kick which successfully hit the back of the net. the Kodiaks held the lead heading into the second half with a score of 2-1.

Tension was high as there was no room for slip ups. The Rattlers were unable to execute a pass in front of their goaltender as Kodiaks Striker #23 Daniel Montoya intercepted this pass and used it to his advantage scoring on the Rattlers. As the last half continued both teams let the game get the better of them when a huge confrontation broke out which led to three players getting ejected from the game. The teams were able to move past this dispute and Kodiaks #18 Kyeler Paxman-Viani scored his third and final goal of the night, finishing the game off with a score of 4-1 for the Kodiaks.
