NAIT bests Lakeland to start the day

Lloydminster, AB - The match between the Lakeland Rustlers and the NAIT Ooks was an exciting and fast-paced contest. The Rustlers started the game with the kickoff, but NAIT quickly applied pressure, with Lakeland's goalkeeper, Orrin Edighoffer, making several key saves. The Ooks' attack was relentless, with a shot from Peter Jones hitting just over the net. A yellow card on the Rustlers came at the 18th-minute mark, but the defense remained strong despite the pressure.

At the 21st-minute mark, NAIT took the lead with a goal from Peter Jones, assisted by Jameson Kiezik. The Rustlers responded with a goal from Gavin Quinlan in the 12th minute, but NAIT quickly regained the lead, with Jones again scoring at the 15:30-minute mark. The Rustlers had another chance when Vinicius Da Silva scored off a free kick at 7:30, bringing the game to 3-2 in favor of the Ooks at halftime.

In the second half, NAIT continued to dominate, scoring quickly with a free-kick goal from Jameson Kiezik in the 22nd minute. However, the Rustlers didn't back down, as number 10 scored off a free kick at the 20-minute mark, keeping them in the game. Both teams exchanged shots, but neither could capitalize until the 14:30-minute mark, when the Rustlers' number 17 scored to pull within one goal.

Despite their offensive pressure, the Rustlers suffered a costly turnover, which led to a goal by Kiezik at 10:45. The Rustlers continued to battle, but a late goal by Josh from Lakeland brought the score to 6-5. With only 12 seconds remaining, NAIT sealed the victory with a third goal from Jones, ending the game 7-5 in their favor.

Both teams played with intensity, with standout performances from Lakeland's Edgar Skylar and NAIT's Kiezik, who received Player of the Game nods.
