Vikings fall short again

Camrose, AB – With temperatures on the rise so were the spirits of the Augustana Vikings mens soccer team, playing a solid first half but eventually falling short in the second, resulting in a 3-0 win by the visiting Kings University Eagles.

Kings first year Computing Science student, John De-Mendoza, started off the scoring shortly into the second half. This momentum was followed not long after with another goal by Daniel Perrault, first year Arts student, who assisted the first goal, and was later awarded Player of the Game for the Eagles. After a heated last couple minutes of play in the game John De-Mendoza found the back of the net again, giving the Kings Eagles a win of 3-0.

On this sunny, friday afternoon the young Viking team was hungry for a win and put in a solid first half. Losing focus for a couple of minutes early in the second half unfortunately ended up costing them the game. On the Augustana side the Player of the Game Award went to third year Sociology student, Matthew Svederus, who played a very strong defensive game.
