Abraham Dukuly Honoured as the 2018 ACAC Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Year

CALGARY, AB (Oct. 25, 2018) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce that Abraham Dukuly of the NAIT Ooks men's soccer team, has been selected as the 2018 ACAC Rookie of the Year Sponsored by the Alberta Soccer Association.

Abraham's play this season helped lead the NAIT Ooks to a regular season 1st place finish in the ACAC North division with a 9-0-1 record. Dukuly, a 1st year Open Studies student from Edmonton, joined the Ooks after graduating from Edmonton FC Academy, and playing a few games with Edmonton FC. The NAIT midfielder made an immediate impact on his team and the league buy tallying 9 goals and 4 assists this season while maintaining a strong defensive game.

NAIT Ooks men's soccer head coach Charles O'Toole had the following to say about his rookie student-athlete.  "Abe has become a team leader in his rookie year at NAIT. He has led his teammates both on and off the field. He works hard at training and in games and is always encouraging those around him. He has high goals that he has set for himself both academically and athletically I have no doubt he will succeed at both.
Congratulations Abe on this prestigious award and we wish you many more successes.

Abraham and his NAIT Ooks teammates will be in action this weekend at the 2018 ACAC Men's Soccer Championship at SAIT. The Ooks will face have earned a bye to Saturday's semi-final game where they will face the winner of the Lethbridge College Kodiaks and the King's University Eagles.
