Dean Northover Honoured as the 2018 ACAC Men’s Soccer Player of the Year

CALGARY, AB (Oct. 25, 2018) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce that Dean Northover of the SAIT Trojans men's soccer team, has been selected as the 2018 ACAC Player of the Year Sponsored by the Alberta Soccer Association.

The SAIT Trojans men's soccer player was named the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Men's Soccer Player of the Year on Thursday night, repeating the same feat he achieved last season. He was presented with the award during the Conference Championship banquet at SAIT. 

"Dean is an incredible talent that brings so much to the table," says Trojans head coach, Connor Brady. "Along with being selfless a leader on our team, his positive attitude and willingness to hold his teammates accountable makes our team that much stronger."

Northover becomes the first player to win the award in consecutive seasons since Kyle Yamada did so in 2008 as a member of the Lethbridge College Kodiaks and then again in 2009 as a member of the Mount Royal University Cougars. The third-year Graphic Communications and Print Technology student from Calgary played a big part in his team going a perfect 12-0 this season to finish atop the ACAC's South Division standings. 

He led the Trojans with 11 goals on the season, many of which came because of his amazing work ethic.
