Rattlers Win in Final Home Start

In a must win game the Medicine hat Rattlers hosted the Ambrose Lions in their final home game if the season. The Rattlers needed to win out and hope for some help to make the second season. With this in mind the Rattlers got off to a very hot start scoring just 45 seconds into the game. Colton Pacheco buried the first chance of the game in the bottom corner. The home side continued to press, with the Rattlers generating 3 scoring opportunities in the opening minutes of the game.  As the game continued the Lions were able to claw back into it keeping the ball in the midfield. With some quick ball movement and fast hard play, hard fouls came from both sides. Although no cards were handed out, two players were forced out of the game to injury. With 10 minutes left in the half, Joao Nobile fired a shot in from 35 yards with eyes, finding the back of the net. In injury time the Rattlers got a free kick deep in the Lions end. Tom Bernhardt buried the kick, just sneaking Inside the far post. The Rattlers took this right into the break leading 3-0.

The second half started off looking much like the first. The rattlers went right down the field and were able to covert a Raouf Mohammed goal in 48 seconds. The Rattlers continued to push the ball and keep it deep in the Lions end for minutes at a time. As the game evened out with Rattlers subs coming into the game, the majority of the play moved back into the middle of the field. The Home side however continued to keep the Lions from getting any scoring chances. The Rattlers looked to be on cruise control, just killing time and maintaining possession. They completely shut the door by scoring in the 84th minute from Mason Clapper on a great assist from Raouf Mohammed. Again in injury time, the rattlers earned a penalty shot. Arlind Musliu slid the ball in the net for a 6-0 final.
