MSOC- Kodiaks Punch Their Ticket to The Semi Finals After a 4-1 Victory Over The Ambrose Lions

Oct. 15, 2021- Kodiaks look to advance onto the next round of the playoffs as they face off against the Ambrose Lions on home-turf

The first 20 minutes of the game was slow as neither the Kodiaks nor the Lions were able to generate much offense other than the odd chance.

The second half of the 1st was when things really started to heat up as there was chance after chance for the Kodiaks and the Lions. With 16 minutes left in the 1st half, #15 Ben Knight opens the scoring after being rewarded a penalty kick to put the Kodiaks up 1-0. Minutes later, Lions #7 Aristotle Cruz ties the game at 1 apiece after Ambrose received a penalty kick of their own which they capitalized on. With both teams being up in each other's face for the better part of the first half of the game, the Kodiaks and Lions went into halftime tied 1-1.

15 minutes into the 2nd half #14 Hayden Devoy gives the Kodiaks the 2-1 lead after picking the bottom right corner on the Lions goalkeeper. The Kodiaks continued to dominate the 2nd half as #18 TJ Bodunrin scored after receiving a beautiful pass from #15 Ben Knight. In the final minute of the game #5 Kofi Assuming seals the deal on the victory after a great goal assisted by #24 Charlie Block. The Kodiaks take this game 4-1 as they move onto the semi-finals where they will battle the Red Deer Kings on their turf Sunday afternoon.
