EDMONTON, AB (September 11th, 2022) – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder

Kicked off their home opener this Sunday afternoon against the Keyano Huskies. A defensive battle throughout the entire game saw the Huskies manage to get the upper hand and come away with a 2-0 win.

The first 30 minutes saw both defenses hold their ground causing neither team to get anything going offensively. That changed in the 35th minute when Keyano's #20 Hafid Arellano scored from the penalty spot to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead. The game returned to a defensive battle with both team pushing to get ahead. The Thunder pushed hard for an equalizer in the second half but fell short as number #21 Louis Goldbrunner scored in the 86th minute to make it 2-0 and seal the game for Keyano.

The One Team Sport Players of the game were #21 Louis Goldbrunner for Keyano and #3 Luis Burke for Concordia. The Thunder schedule continues next Sunday against the NAIT Ooks.
