Men's Soccer Huskies top Voyageurs to remain perfect

The Keyano Huskies Men's Soccer team rolled to a 10-0 victory over the Portage College Voyageurs Saturday afternoon at SMS Equipment Stadium inside Shell Place in Fort McMurray, Alta.

Highlighting the performance for the Huskies was James Bartha, who recorded four goals in the victory, marking the third multi-goal effort of his young Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) career.

The game's scoring began early thanks to rookie Aaron Ernst, who struck for the game-winning goal in the eighth minute with the first goal of his ACAC career. Two minutes later, Bartha potted his first of the game.

In the 31st minute, Caleb Kehler increased the lead to three, followed by the fourth and final goal of the first half by Karl Tronche.

Sparking his team early in the second half, Bartha made it 5-0 moments after the restart. Kehler made it 6-0 with his second of the game, followed by the final two strikes from Bartha in the 63rd and 70th minutes.

Kehler made it a hat-trick-performance for him in the 76th minute and center back Dino Hronopoulos scored his first ACAC goal as well.

The performance was record-setting for the Huskies as a team, scoring their most goal in a single regular season game ever and the most since potting eight on September 11, 2016 against the now Northwest Polytechnic Wolves.

Michael Musanza earned Player of the Game honours for the Voyageurs.

The two teams will conclude their season series with a date in Lac la Biche on Sunday, October 23. Kickoff for that game is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
