Ambrose #8 Nicolas Lyons opened scoring against the Kodiaks after an unlucky free kick from an unfortunate hand ball in the Kodiaks defensive end. #6 Brian Sure tied us up with an amazing finish on a penalty kick after a handball in the box by the Lions. He then had yet another opportunity on a dramatic second handball PK just seconds later, which unfortunately hit the post. Kodiaks continued to push hard against the Lions, with Jaxon Uhl and Brandon Francis showing their speed and generating a lot of shots on net for the Lions keeper to have to keep up with. The game was tied 1-1 at half with both teams fighting hard.
#9 Jaxon Uhl put one past the keeper just seconds into the 2nd half off an assist by #20 Brandon Francis. Kodiaks kept up the scoring pressure with #14 Liam Frost putting a long ball past the keeper from #6 Brian Sure. #14 Liam Frost couldn't be stopped after a gorgeous header at the back post off a cross from #20 Brandon Francis, bringing the Kodiaks up 4-1. The Lions came back to capitalize on some hot-headedness from both teams (Kodiaks #20 Brandon Francis, #20 Thuok Yat Cheek), scoring a beautiful header by #2 Nathan Yeung off a long ball in by #3 Travis Dolter. The Kodiaks then proceeded to answer the late goal with one of their own from #13 Ethan Meerkerk assisted by #22 Ryley Van Maanen. Kodiaks proceeded to dominate the second half, pulling ahead and keeping the pressure in the Lions defensive end. Kodiaks end the game with a 5-2 win.
