Semi Final Men's Game

The last semi final of the night saw Red Deer Polytechnic take on Keyano College. The game got underway shortly after 7 PM local time with the lights on and dark skies. Temperature hovering just above 0 degrees Celsius. The action got started right away with Red Deer scoring from an unsuspecting angle in the 6th minute. Goal by #9 Grant Johnson with the assist by #17 Jaxon Fernandes. Fast paced action early on with both teams playing physical and denying entry attempts. In the 26th minute Keyano gets on the board with a goal initiated off a free kick. Goal by #14 Jacob Marshall with the assist from #10 Hafid Arellano. Scoring chances picked up late in the 1st half with Keyano putting a golden setup just over the net in the 41st minute. Keyano makes good shortly after with a goal in the 42nd minute. Perfect setup and finish the goalkeeper had little chance on. Goal by #9 Joshua Fitzpatrick with the assist from #14 Jacob Marshall. 2-1 Keyano after 45 minutes.

The 2nd half starts with few scoring chances and much of the game being contested at midfield. Great scoring chance for Red Deer in the 65th minute with an uncontested look sent wide left. Red Deer maintains the pressure with a corner in the 70th minute that goes off the post. Keyano's strategy appears to shift around the 75th minute as they seem content to play keep away quickly rebuffing any Red Deer offensive tries. The game ends 2-1 in favor of Keyano with very few scoring opportunities in the last 15 minutes thanks to a masterful Keyano defensive effort.
