Rattlers Sweep Weekend

The Olds College Broncos entered the Snake Pit hoping to avenge a 3-1 loss the night prior. The Rattlers went into the game looking for the weekend sweep. The rattlers and broncos opened by trading points neither getting into a serving run. Olds college broke free going on a 3 serve run putting them ahead by 4, 13-9. Objecting to a few of the official's calls, Rattlers coach Mark Porter was visibly upset with the consistency of the calls. This sparked his team as the Rattlers came back to tie it at 14. A three serve streak from Rattler Tyler Olson had the rattlers holding a 4 point lead 22-18 forcing the broncos to take their last timeout of the set. The Lead was too much for the broncos to overcome as the Rattlers took the first set 25-19.
The second set started much faster for the Rattlers than the first. Starting the game on a 5-2 run. This lead stayed where it was as the teams traded points climbing up the scoreboard. Neither team could gain an advantage as the game passed 15 points at a tie. Another service run from Olson opened up a 5 point lead for the Rattlers 20-15. Side outs both ways led to Zachary Franks serving out the set and the Rattlers taking it 25-18.
A must win set for the broncos, Olds came out trying to prolong the game. Medicine Hat hoped to close out the match in 3. Side outs were the story of the first part of the game as neither team could establish a serve. A yellow card was issued to the Olds Bench with the coach expressing his growing frustration with the calls. Neither Coach looked particularly pleased with the officiating at this point. Olds bench was issued a second yellow card and ejected. The rattler bench was issued a yellow card at the same time. This exchange sparked the Rattlers Offence as they rattled off 5 straight to lead 15-10. 2 more serves from Rattler Griffin Moline extended the lead to 7. Another good run from the rattlers pushed the lead to 10 points firmly in control. The Rattlers stalled at 24 but ultimately put it away 25-18
