Trent Mounter Honoured as 2017-18 ACAC Men's Volleyball Player of the Year
MEDICINE HAT, AB (Feb. 21, 2018) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce that Trent Mounter of the SAIT Trojans has been selected as the 2017-18 ACAC Men's Volleyball Player of the Year sponsored by Volleyball Officials Association of Alberta.
Mounter put together an impressive season, leading the ACAC in points per set (4.6), kills per set (3.62), service aces per set (0.66) and service aces (49). His hard work helped the Trojans to a 20-4 record, and the No. 1 seed in the ACAC's South Division going into this week's Conference Championship hosted by the Medicine Hat College Rattlers.
"Statistically speaking, Trent has put together an amazing season," says Trojans head coach, Sean McKay. "A force at the net, in the back row and at the service line, his talent and physicality make him one of the premier players in the country."
The 6-foot-4 outside from Perth, Australia, Mounter is in his second season at SAIT where he studies Business Administration.
This prestigious award was presented to Mounter at the 2018 ACAC Men's Volleyball Championship Awards Banquet held on Feb. 21 at Medicine Hat College.
