The Lakeland men volleyball team took the court for the first time this season, playing The Kings Eagles. The Rustlers came out to a rocky start getting outplayed by the strong Eagles. The first set was dominated by King's outsides. Rustlers veteran squad pulled through in the second set with a strong showing from there captain Matt Peck. Matt lead the charge for the Rustlers giving them the advantage they needed. The Kings outside however shy away from the task at hand putting away a combined 22 kills on the night. Rustlers tied it up at 1-1 heading into the third set giving them ahead of steam The Kings Eagles couldn't slow down. The Rustlers would put away the next two sets with ease giving them a 3-1 win in there home opener. Both teams having there stars play above expectations will give both teams hope for tomorrow night's game.
