Eagles take down undefeated Ooks

The King's University Eagles, coming off their bye week, will be facing their toughest opponents of the season as they take on the number one ranked NAIT Ooks. The Ooks still undefeated, took care of business when they beat the second ranked team, in the previous weekend.
In the first set, the Eagles looked to prove they are for real as they went toe-to-toe with the Ooks. The defence of the Eagles looked unbreakable, as anything the Ooks hit was sent right back by the Eagles blockers. The Eagles took the first set, 25-20, on the shoulders of their stellar defensive play.
In the second set, the Eagles continued to play well as it looked as though the momentum continued to be on their side. They had built a decent lead over the Ooks, but Ooks did not quit. They began to chip away at the Eagles lead cutting the game down to only one point. But the Eagles were able to compose themselves and finish off the set, 25-23, and take a 2-0 set lead. 
In the third set, the Ooks looked to stop the Eagles momentum as they came out strong. The Ooks built an early lead, but the Eagles were able to regroup and pull back even later in the set, but the Ooks continued to play their game as they took the set 27-25.
In the fourth set, the Eagles wanted to prove the first two sets were not a fluke, while the Ooks looked to continue there momentum and take it to a fifth set. After an early red card for the Ooks, the Eagles smelt blood and finished off the Ooks quickly, taking the set 25-15, and the match 3 sets to 1.

The Eagles will be looking to continue their win streak as they take on the NAIT Ooks once more, November 23, @ 3pm at NAIT.
