MVB| Kodiaks Fell Short Against the Kings

Nov. 12, 2021- The Kodiaks were finally back on home turf after a long season of no volleyball, the players were itching to get back into the competition.

Kodiak's backup setter Liam Frost stepped up to the plate after an injury occurred last weekend with their starter Nash Shipton, proving his worth on the court. Intensity ran high in the gymnasium as the teams battled for the lead. Nevertheless, the Kodiaks were determined to take control, as they won the set 25-20

The Kings came back into the second set with fire under their feet, looking to take the second set. After outstanding performances from their veteran players, they ended up winning the set 25-21 over the Kodiaks. Despite losing the set, there were amazing plays made by some Kodiak newbies.

After hitting their stride in the second set, Kodiaks players #6 Shaye Wall and #11 Cameron Piers showed up with something to prove in the third set. Kodiaks middle Cameron Piers blocked every ball that came his way, leaving no room to get past, as Shaye Wall never give up on a ball, showing hustle and resiliency. However, it was not enough as the Kings Setter, #4 Maddux Greves was a powerhouse on the court, demonstrating his importance on the court. The Kings took the third set 25-19.

The fourth set was full of back-and-forth rallies, battling for the point and staying neck n neck. The Kings held onto the lead with their composed kills and defensive plays. In the final moments of the set, the Kings held the lead until the Kodiaks came back to secure a 1-point difference. Unfortunately, the Kings came out on top with a score of 22-25 to end the game at 3 sets to 1.
