Wolves host the Nait Ooks in a weekend series

The Wolves welcomed the Nait Ooks Saturday afternoon for the 2nd game of the weekend series. After dropping the Friday night game, the Wolves were looking for a win.

Early in the 1st set the Wolves fall behind 12:6. Coach Sam Tu'ivai calls a timeout. The Wolves score 6 straight points out of the timeout to come within 1. Nait regains possession and scores 3 more. 16:13 Ooks. The Ooks would add 3 more before the Wolves call a time out at 19:13. The Wolves tried to claw their way back. Too many kills from the Ooks and they take the set 25:19.

A missed serve by the Ooks to start the set and a net call, Wolves go up 2:0. A couple strong kills by the Ooks and the game is tied at 2. 6:5 for the Ooks and the Wolves call a timeout. The Wolves strong out of the timeout, close the gap to within 1. #17 Chad Morrison to serve, point Wolves. Game is tied at 18 and the Ooks call a timeout. #13 Corom Gregson for the Wolves, puts away a great kill. Wolves go up 2 points. 21:19. A two hit call on the Ooks and the Wolves go up 23:20. Ooks call a timeout.  #13 Corom Gregson serves the ball out of bounds, Ooks come within 2. An out of bound hit from the Wolves, and score is 23:22 Wolves. Coach Sam Tu'ivai calls a timeout. A huge block by GPRC Wolves Tom Wheeler and the Wolves go up by 2. 24:22. Tough 2nd set, the Wolves drop the set 27:25. Ooks up 2:0.

Close 3rd set sees both teams exchanging points through to 13:12 for Ooks. Wolves call a timeout. Ooks come out strong, and the Wolves cannot rebound. Ooks finish the set 25:17 and win the game 3:0.

Player of the Game for Ooks was #10 Karter Godin and for the Wolves #9 Thomas Wheeler.
