Red Deer Polytechnic Kings take a three set decision over the visiting Ambrose University Lions

Red Deer, AB – The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings capitalized on a 14 kill performance from outside hitter Brett Lower and downed the Ambrose University Lions in three sets (25-18, 25-16, and 26-24).

Along with his team leading number of kills, Lower added four digs and two aces. Teammate Reece Lehman contributed 11 kills from the left side. 

RDP setter Maddux Greves totaled 32 assists, six digs, three digs and one of his team's seven service aces.

Emmitt Juul-Hansen and John Revilla recorded one service ace each for the visiting Lions.

Nicholas Possingham was named the North Star Sports Kings Player of the Game. The six-foot-seven outside hitter from South Australia finished with eight kills, seven digs, two assists, and one ace while hitting for 0.615 per cent efficiency. 

Benjamin Brouwer received the honour for the Lions, accumulating nine kills (0.500), three digs, one block and an assist. Joshua Nickel also had a productive performance, chipping in with nine kills and three digs.

On Friday, January 28, the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings (9-1) will entertain the Briercrest College Clippers (7-1) at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre at 8 pm.

The Lions (1-7) are back in action on Wednesday, January 26 at 6 pm when they host the Medicine Hat College Rattlers (0-8).
