Red Deer, AB – Down two, the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings rattled off the next three sets to earn a five set home victory over the Briercrest College Clippers (22-55, 22-25, 25-15, 25-23 and 15-10). 

North Star Sports Kings Player of the Game Brett Lower led the home team's offence with 26 kills (0.429 hitting percentage). Clippers outside hitter Karym Coleman had a strong offensive match, totaling 27 kills (0.241), three blocks, two digs and an ace. 

Kings setter Brett Theise (53 assists) also connected with first-years Nicholas Possingham (15 kills) and Dante Furlan (10 kills). Libero JJ Graham contributed nine digs and an assist. 

Brady Watchel received the top player award for the Clippers, recording nine digs and two assists. Noah Dirsten and Davis Borden added nine kills apiece. Setter Jeremy Martens totaled 38 assists, four digs, one ace and a kill. 

RDP recorded eight service aces. Briercrest College had six.

The first place Red Deer Polytechnic Kings (10-1) will host the second seed Clippers (7-2) on Saturday, January 29 at 3 pm, wrapping up the weekend series.
