Red Deer Polytechnic Kings down Ambrose University Lions

Red Deer, AB - The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings used an Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) service aces record to drop the Ambrose University Lions in three sets (25-15, 25-11, 25-15).

Kings setter Maddux Greves (24 assists) recorded 14 of the team's 20 aces to help the home team earn the victory. Greves, a Business Administration General student, added three digs and was named the North Star Sports Kings Player of the Game.

Lions Player of the Match George Zapach accumulated three kills (0.750 hitting percentage), three digs and one block.

Outside hitter Nicholas Possingham led Red Deer Polytechnic with 10 kills. Reece Lehman added eight. 

Nicholas Jabusch (five kills), Kade Miller (five kills) and Nikita Marchenkov (five kills) helped power Ambrose University's offence.

As a group, the Lions recorded three blocks. The Kings were credited with four. 

On Saturday, February 12, the Ambrose University Lions (2-13) will host the Olds College Broncos (6-6) at 8 pm.

The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings (11-4) will meet the Kodiaks (8-5) on February 12 at 4 pm in Lethbridge.
