Ambrose Lions look to secure a playoff spot against the Olds College Broncos.

Calgary, AB – The Ambrose University Lions hosted the Olds College Broncos on Friday night as the Lions looked to book their ticket to the ACAC playoffs this March. They entered this match in a tie for the last spot, so a win would give them a clear advantage. Unfortunately, the Broncos were too much for them, beating the Lions in 3 straight sets to win the match.

Thomas Pugsley (#3), the setter for the Broncos, had a great game, earning himself 27 assists in only 3 sets. Ambrose's setter, Benjamin Brouwer (#3), also had an excellent game, earning 20 assists as well as 6 digs.

The player of the game for the Broncos was #12 Braden Bates. The player of the game for the Lions was #12 Carter McLenahan.

The Broncos next games are their final two matches of the season. They will meet with the Briercrest Clippers on February 25th and 26th. This was the final regular season game for the Lions who will anxiously await the game tomorrow between Briercrest and Medicine Hat College, as MHC is currently tied with the Lions in the standings and a victory would put them straight into the playoffs, ending the Lions' season.
