RDP Kings take three set decision over SAIT Trojans, advance to Final Four
Red Deer, AB - Kings setter Maddux Greves (32 assists) found a variety of targets and added pressure from service line, helping Red Deer Polytechnic pick up a three set decision over the SAIT Trojans (25-20, 25-22 and 25-16).
The RDP Kings will advance to the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Final Four.
North Star Sports Kings Player of the Game Greves recorded five of the team's 10 service aces. The Business Administration General student added three digs and a pair of kills.
Jeffrey Carreos, SAIT's Player of the Game, made several key defensive plays. The third-year libero from Calgary recorded five digs in a hardworking effort.
RDP outside hitters Brett Lower (0.286 hitting percentage) and Nicholas Possingham (0.438) had 11 kills each. Dillon Gauci (seven kills and one block) and Cody Boulding (two kills and one block) contributed from the middle. Libero JJ Graham picked up five digs.
SAIT's Ryan Zachary had a team high 10 kills (0.273 hitting percentage), along with three digs, two assists and a block. Mitchell Newman added five kills and one of the Trojans' four aces. Jonatan Da silva accumulated 17 assists, four digs, two aces, a block and one kill.
NAIT will host the ACAC Final Four on March 11 and 12.
