Kodiaks claw out a weekend sweep over the Broncos

The Lethbridge College Kodiaks came back from a set down to defeat the Olds College Broncos in four sets at Ralph Klein Centre on Saturday, sweeping the weekend doubleheader between the two sides.

Nolan Moes (12 kills, seven blocks) earned Player of the Game honours for the Kodiaks (3-0), while Matheus Franca (16 kills, 11 digs) earned the distinction for the Broncos (0-2).

The Broncos got the jump early, taking an early advantage with a 25-21 first set win. However, the Kodiaks would then post an identical scoreline in the second set to even the match before pulling ahead with a 25-20 victory in the third.

The fourth set featured plenty of twists and turns throughout, with neither team giving the other an inch before Lethbridge College took a final step forward to close out the match with a 29-27 set victory.

Lethbridge College now gets the week off before facing the Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves on Nov. 4 at 8 p.m. in Grande Prairie, while the Broncos will travel to Calgary to play the Ambrose University Lions on Friday at 8 p.m.
