Men's Volleyball Huskies sweep away Rustlers

The Keyano Huskies Men's Volleyball team claimed another decisive victory in a battle among two of the top teams in the ACAC North Division, sweeping the Lakeland Rustlers Saturday afternoon at the Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre in Fort McMurray, Alta.
The two teams battled back and forth through the first set before the Huskies were able to claim the opening set victory. After a quick second set victory, the Huskies again had to fend off a strong effort from the Rustlers, who hung in the set until the final points.
João Cunha continued his hot play with 17 kills and a pair of blocks, also adding four digs. Teammate Athus Silva had nine kills to go along with five blocks and a dig. Rafael Parada rounded out the trio of Brazillian stars with eight kills, seven digs, and one ace. Noah Gagne handled setting duties to the tune of 44 assists. Libero Anderson King led his team in digs with nine.
Gabriel Bjorkas led the visiting Rustlers with 11 kills, also adding six digs on the day. Brock Tomyn finsihed one kill behind Bjorkas with 10 wile Vaughn Zimmer had nine on the day. Keifer Sinclair collected 26 assists while handling setting duties and Jake Willick led 13 digs.
