ACAC Cancels Remainder of 2019-20 Season

In light of recent announcements related to the COVID-19 situation issued from Alberta Health, Alberta Advanced Education as well as Provincial and National Sport Organization partners, the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference is declaring the cancellation of the remainder of the 2019-20 ACAC season. This impacts the ACAC sports of Futsal, Indoor Track and Women’s and Men’s Hockey.

With the majority of teams treating the opening meet of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference indoor track season as a training race as they build towards the championship, times were well back of the conference records which have traditionally fallen during the MacEwan Invitational Running Room Grand Prix at the Kinsmen Fieldhouse.

Being a head coach at the post-secondary level can be described as more of a lifestyle than a job. The hours are long, you are never off the clock, the highs are euphoric, and lows are stressful. At the end of the day, the passion for the game, the rewarding feeling of watching student-athletes develop as both players and people can't be replicated anywhere else.
