Running Room Grand Prix #3 - Event Recap

Lethbridge, AB (March 2, 2026) – The Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks hosted the ACAC Running Room Grand Prix #3 on February 28, 2026, at the 1st Choice Savings Centre, welcoming athletes from eight ACAC programs for an exciting day of indoor track competition. With strong performances in sprints, middle distance, and relays, the meet highlighted the depth and competitiveness across the conference.

Lethbridge Polytechnic finished at the top in the combined team standings with 118 points, followed by SAIT (90) and Northwest Polytechnic (72).

 

Women's Events

The women's 60m dash opened the day with a fast final, as SAIT's Amy Fallows claimed gold in 7.89 seconds. University of Alberta–Augustana's Maya Pardeahtan took second, while Lethbridge's Hallee Pilling secured third.

Fallows added another victory in the 300m, crossing the line first in 42.24. Pilling earned silver for the host team, and teammate Hana Oikawa finished third.

In the 600m, St. Mary's University's Cadence Laplante delivered one of the top performances of the day, winning in 1:38.28. University of Alberta–Augustana's Sidney Cusack placed second, and Northwest Polytechnic's Raelle Amboe rounded out the top three.

Medicine Hat College's Reyna Woodruff led the field in the 1500m, finishing first in 5:26.39. Lethbridge's Livia Swift claimed silver, while Northwest Polytechnic's Alayna Rebong earned bronze.

Relay events capped off the women's competition. Lethbridge Polytechnic captured gold in both the 4x200m and 4x400m relays, while SAIT, Northwest Polytechnic, University of Alberta–Augustana, and Medicine Hat College all collected key points.

In the women's team standings, Lethbridge Polytechnic led with 59 points, followed by Northwest Polytechnic (41) and University of Alberta–Augustana (39).

 

Men's Events

The men's competition featured tight finishes and standout individual efforts.

Lethbridge's Owen Boucher sprinted to victory in the 60m dash, narrowly edging Medicine Hat's Daniel Friesen, with SAIT's Myles Sonom finishing third.

Friesen returned to the track to capture gold in the 300m, while Lethbridge's Wayne Bauluck and SAIT's Brock Bishop secured second and third, respectively.

SAIT's Silas Iyuke won the 600m in a close race, just ahead of University of Alberta–Augustana's Nicholas Taylor. Northwest Polytechnic's Jesse Loiselle finished third.

In the 1500m, SAIT's Nathan Woyessa posted an impressive win in 4:06.76. Lethbridge runners Ethan Grasmeyer and Shaun Geusebroek followed in second and third.

The men's 4x200m relay saw Lethbridge Polytechnic take gold, with Northwest Polytechnic and Medicine Hat also earning podium finishes. SAIT responded in the 4x400m relay, claiming first place ahead of Lethbridge and Northwest Polytechnic.

Lethbridge Polytechnic led the men's team standings with 59 points, closely followed by SAIT (55) and Medicine Hat College (37).

 

With strong performances from multiple schools and competitive races across all events, Grand Prix #3 delivered another exciting chapter in the ACAC indoor season. The meet served as the final tune-up before the 2026 ACAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, set for March 7–8 at the Kinsmen Sports Centre in Edmonton.
