Lions Topped By Kings and Queens

The Lion's came up against a tough opponent tonight in the Den as they faced the Red Deer College Queens and Kings. Both teams put up a good fight and had moments of great promise, but unfortunately neither team was able to come away with a victory.

The women's team started the game off strong scoring 20 points in the first quarter and holding the high octane Queen's offense to 39 points at half. However, in the third quarter the Lions broke down offensively and scored only 2 points in the whole frame. The Player of Game Honours went to Paige Goertzen who finished the game with 14 points and 5 rebounds.

The Men's game was a real nail biter right up until the last 5 minutes of the game where Red Deer guard Ian Tevis took over and iced the game with a couple tough jumpers down the stretch. The Lion's played great defense the whole game and fell short in the final quarter of play. The Player of the Game Honours went to Dyson Surmik who finished the game with 18 points and 7 rebounds.
