CALGARY, ALTA., (March 3, 2018) — The St. Mary's University Lightning defeated the Medicine Hat College Rattlers 77-66 in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Women's Basketball Championship Final Saturday evening at SAIT.
Montana Romeril scored 18 of her 23 points in the final quarter, while teammate Megan Trisevic added 14 points and seven rebounds to lead the Lightning to the program's first ACAC title. Kennedy Were replied with 12 points and 17 rebounds for the silver medalist Rattlers.
Romeril was named the Earl's Kitchen and Bar Player of the Game for the Lightning. Werre was named the Rattler Player of the Game.
St. Mary's finishes the three-day event a perfect 3-0, while the Rattlers went 2-1.
