Host Keyano College Huskies outscored The Kings University Eagles 14-7 in the opening 10 minutes.
Eagles picked up the defense intensity in the second quarter outscoring the home side 21-15.
Keyano Huskies had a 29-28 halftime lead thanks to the play of veterans Augusta Kievisaite and Moiyan Toure scoring down low for a combined 19 points.
Eagles' Marta Burchett kept her team close by draining two-of- three three-point attempts while teammate Rosemanie James scored six of her teams eight points in last 3:30 minutes.
An opening second half three by Huskies' Sarah MacDonald, sparked her team by outscoring the visiting squad from Edmonton 22-6 in the next 10 minutes.
Huskies would go on to a comfortable 70-46 decision at Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre.
Kievisaite was Huskies Player of the Game with 26 points. Toure added 13 points and 15 rebounds. Burchett was Eagles Player of the Game with nine points and three steals. Gaddiel Kamuanya Tshiunza, in 23 minutes playing time, had 13 points and six rebounds.
