Wolves Host Keyano Huskies for a Weekend Series
The Wolves welcomed the Keyano Huskies for the second game of the weekend series. Wolves came out strong and hit a 3 point shot to start the game. The Huskies didn't give up and forced a few fouls on GPRC which converted to points. With under a minute left in the quarter, the Huskies go up 16-9.
The second quarter started strong for the Wolves, they went on a 5-0 run to start the quarter. Huskies put up one point in the first 3 minutes of play. Tough defense on both ends before the quarter ended 34-25 for the Huskies. At the half way point the top scorers were #5 and #15 from the Huskies with 8 points each and #12 Sophie Melin with 6 points.
The crowd was entertained at half time with a dance off between Wolves Minor Basketball Players and Wolves Mascot, Farley. The Wolves Minor Basketball Players are ending a terrific season of Basketball.
The third quarter started off very low scoring. The quarter ended 50-39 for the Wolves.
The Wolves were looking to close the gap in the fourth and final quarter. Down by 11 they were looking for the come back. Huskies didn't let down, and pulled away even further. With 3 minutes to go the Huskies were up by 17 points. A Wolves timeout was called. Huskies took the second game of the weekend series 70-48.
The Mr. Mikes Player of the Game for the GPRC Wolves was #8 Jayden Demchuk with 8 points and 6 rebounds. For the Keyano Huskies the Mr. Mikes Player of the Game was #12 Sarah McDonald with 12 points and 7 rebounds
