Wolves and Ooks square off in early December matchup
Though it's rare for two teams to play each other twice in the first semester during the regular season, the Wolves and Ooks did just that as they met Friday night for the 3rd time this season. Volleyball, soccer, Cross country, and Indoor track teams from GPRC were rooting on the Wolves in the GPRC gymnasium. Scoring was at a premium in the first half as both teams clamped down defensively. The Ooks were able to capitalize on turnovers and took a 31-11 lead into half time. The third quarter was better for the Wolves, more than doubling their score. The Ooks were still in command, leading 48-23 as they headed into the final quarter. The Ooks opened up their lead in the 4th quarter, running away with the game, 70 to 33. #15 Kelly Reid led the Wolves with 11 points and #4 Sydney Hurlburt led the Ooks with 29 points. Both leading scorers were named Players of The Game. The win positions the Ooks securely in the 4th and final playoff position. The 1-12 Wolves will look to take one from the 7-6 Ooks tomorrow at 1pm as these two teams play each other for the final time in the regular season.
