Eagles lose tough one vs. Rustlers

The King's University Eagles take on the Lakeland Rustlers, in their RBC Make Some Noise for Mental Health night. In tonight's matchup, the Eagles are looking to build on their win from their previous match, while the second place Rustlers are looking to break their two game losing streak.

In the first quarter, both teams played some stellar defence as neither team were able to get into the paint and score. The Eagles were able to get on the scoreboard through their fast break, while the Rustlers continued to get the ball down in the post to score the easy twos. Neither team were giving the other an inch, but the Rustlers were able to push slightly ahead, as they finished the quarter up 17-15.

In the second quarter, the Rustlers started strong, as they stretched their lead of the Eagles. But the Eagles battled their way back, as they continued to run the floor relentlessly, and getting the Rustlers into foul trouble early on. The Eagles were able to cut the lead back within just 3 points, but like how the Rustlers started the quarter they were able to end on a nice run, taking the lead going into halftime 33-22.

In the third quarter, both teams continued to battle, looking to hold on to any momentum they could muster up, but as the dust settled, the Rustlers were able to add onto their lead as they went into the final quarter, 46-33.

In the fourth quarter, the Eagles continued to battle, making their way back point by point, but the Rustlers lead was just to big to get past as the Rustler took the game 69-46.

The Eagles will be back in action tomorrow, as they take on the Lakeland College Rustlers, in the rematch of tonight's game @ 6pm.
