Ooks Beat the Vikings

The NAIT Ooks Women's Basketball team faced the University of Alberta - Augustana Vikings Saturday evening in the NAIT Gymnasium for their home opener. After losing to the Vikings Friday night in Camrose, the Ooks came out ready to go, setting a fast pace for the game. The Ooks capatilized o the fast pace winning 72-64. 

Right off of the tip-off, the Ooks were able to attack the basket right off the bat and successfully scored the first points of the game off of a lay-up. The Ooks kept up the pressure by putting on a full-court press against the Vikings. The Vikings struggled to break this press for the first couple minutes of the first quarter. At the end of the first quarter, the score was 26-16 in favour of the Vikings. In the second quarter, the Ooks worked hard to come back to lead going into the second half; however, they fell short, with the Vikings leading 43-39.

The Ooks continued to work hard in the second half to gain the lead. By the end of the third quarter, the Ooks were leading with a score of 54-48 as the Vikings were only able to earn five points compared to the Ooks fifteen. The Ooks continued the momentum they had in the third quarter in the fourth quarter as they scored eighteen more points. The Ooks won the game defeating the Vikings 72-64.
