WBB | Deemter leads Kodiaks to first win of 2022 and hand Trojans first loss of the season

The Kodiaks aim to enter the new year with a win over the SAIT Trojans

 

The Trojans and Kodiaks were neck and neck throughout the quarter trying to get on top of one another trying to take control of the game, neither the Kodiaks or the Trojans were able to run away with the quarter ending the first 10 minutes of play with a 14-13 lead for the Trojans.

 

The second quarter was very much like the first, as both teams fought to get ahold of the game, Kodiaks #4 Matlin Jacobs took it into her own hands leading the scoring for the quarter collecting 4 points as she projected the Kodiaks into the half time leading 25-22

 

The Kodiaks came into the second half on fire which caught the Trojans off guard and flat footed, Kodiaks Courtney Deemter took advantage of it and was on fire picking up 16 points in the quarter to help the Kodiaks almost double their score to put the Kodiaks up 48-30 heading into the final quarter.

 

The Trojans caught the the Kodiaks off guard to start the quarter closing the lead from 18 to within 7 points before the Kodiaks got the wheels turning again, Courtney Deemter continued to be a threat to the Trojans as she closed out the night with 18 points which was enough to keep the Trojans back and to defeat SAIT 58-44 giving SAIT their first loss of the season
