NAIT Ooks Lose Close One to Huskies

Late Sunday afternoon, the NAIT Ooks played against the Keyano Huskies in the NAIT Gymnasium. The Huskies took the win 66-61 against the Ooks.

The Huskies had a solid start as they made two 3-point shots to gain an early six-point lead against the Ooks. The Ooks start making baskets to become even between them and the Huskies. With about three seconds left on the clock, the Huskies and the Ooks were tied 11-11. The Huskies #11, Casey Gorieu, makes a 3-point shot as the buzzer goes to end the quarter. Huskies led 14-11 against the Ooks at the end of the first. The second quarter was played with aggressive defense from the Ooks and the Huskies. The Huskies led 33-28.

After halftime, the Ooks worked towards gaining the lead over the Huskies. The tight defense continued for each team. The Ooks could outscore the Huskies to lead 48-44 at the end of the third quarter.

The fourth quarter was a nail-biter between the Ooks and the Huskies. The Huskies were able to come back to tie the game with about a minute and thirty seconds left of play 60-60. Both teams were in bonus, which allowed both teams to visit the foul line frequently. In the final minute of play, the teams battled for the win. The Huskies were able to get the lead and hold it to finish the game 66-61.
